Chapter 24 · Strategy and execution

What is your strategy?

A list of goals is not a strategy. Strategy makes choices about where to compete, how to create value and what not to pursue.

One action to start with

Write your strategy in three plain-English sentences: who you serve, why they choose you and the capabilities you will prioritise. Test whether your team gives a consistent answer.

What this can look like

Two attractive opportunities may need incompatible capabilities. A clear strategy helps you choose instead of stretching across both.

Illustrative example. This is a short application guide to chapter 24, not the full chapter.

Bring it into the business

Ask your team where they see this pattern. Agree one decision, one owner and a date to review what has changed. Start small enough to act on what you learn.

Want an outside perspective?

Make clear choices, translate them into priorities and build a regular rhythm for reviewing progress.
